We've introduced a new update that expands First Table bookings beyond the current two, three or four diner range, now welcoming solo diners and groups of up to six. For restaurant partners, this means more opportunities to fill seats that might otherwise stay empty.
Venues can now configure bookings across the full range, from a single diner through to a table of six. Time slots can be tailored by group size too, so it's easy to offer solo dining at quieter times and larger groups when the floor can handle it. For venues keeping their current weekly schedule unchanged, the transition is seamless.
First Table will be actively promoting this expanded offering at launch, giving partner venues early visibility with diners searching for these new booking options.
A trial is a straightforward way to test how the expanded group sizes perform before committing fully. Solo diners in particular are a great way to fill bar seating areas that otherwise wouldn't be occupied, making them a worthwhile addition to any session even at lower capacity and groups tend to have a high per head spend with upsell opportunities more likely.
If adjustments are needed, group sizes and time slots can be updated at any time. Schedules are visible to diners 14 days in advance, so any regular changes will apply across that window. For one-off adjustments, just get in touch and the team will take care of it.
Venues can choose to accept solo diners, larger groups, both, or continue with the current two, three or four setup. There's no obligation to change, and for those who do opt in, full control over when and how these sizes are offered remains with the venue.
