Guidelines for First Table
Restaurant Partners
Welcome to First Table, where we connect restaurants with diners looking for an exceptional dining experience. As a participating restaurant, you agree to the following terms and conditions, designed to ensure a smooth, beneficial partnership between your establishment and First Table.
1. Reservation Confirmation and Fulfilment
- You agree to accept reservations made through the First Table platform. The reservation confirmation must be honoured upon presentation by the diner, either in digital or printed form, at the time of their booking.
- Do you have a private function/special event or public holiday coming up? Please ensure that you have entered any dates that you are unavailable to take First Table reservations in the block-out dates tab in your restaurant admin area. This needs to be done at least eight days prior to the block-out period to ensure no bookings are taken via our platform (thus avoiding unnecessary last-minute cancellations and unhappy diners).
2. First Table Offer
- Participating in the First Table service entails offering a 50% discount on food only for bookings made through our platform. This offer is applicable for two to four diners, including adults and children of any age.
- The discount applies only to the food portion of the bill. Beverages and any applicable service charges are not included in the First Table offer and are to be charged at full price.
- We encourage venues to double-check the bill has been issued correctly before issuing to customers.
3. Booking Amendments
- Should a diner wish to amend the number of guests in their party, they are instructed to contact First Table directly. Your restaurant agrees to accommodate such amendments within the stipulated offer limits (two to four diners).
4. Arrival and Seating Policy
- Your establishment agrees to hold reservations for up to 15 minutes past the booking time. If diners arrive more than 15 minutes late, you are not obligated to honour the First Table offer.
- The seating placement of First Table reservations is at your discretion, ensuring a quality experience while managing your restaurant's operational needs.
5. Dine-in Policy
- The First Table offer is valid for dine-in orders only. The option to allow diners to take away leftovers is at your discretion.
6. Compliance with Legal Drinking Age
- For licensed venues, you must enforce age restrictions according to the jurisdiction's legal drinking age, possibly requiring photo ID for entry.
7. Exclusivity of Offers
- The First Table offer cannot be combined with any other discounts, specials, or promotions unless explicitly agreed upon by your establishment.
8. Use of Client Data
- Restaurants are authorised to use client data solely for clearly defined operational purposes such as reservation management and authorised marketing activities, with explicit client consent required for any use beyond these functions. Any unauthorised use or sharing of client data, especially for personal reasons, is strictly prohibited and will result in serious consequences, including potential termination of partnership.
- Refunds are not provided except in circumstances where your restaurant is unable to accommodate a reservation due to reasons not attributable to diners.
- Reservations made through First Table are not exchangeable for cash, are non-transferable, and are not permitted for resale.
- If you impose any form of surcharge on public holidays/weekends, please ensure this has been noted in your special conditions so diners are aware prior to their arrival.
- In the instance where you are unable to accommodate a First Table booking for any reason, please contact the diner directly to ensure they are notified in a timely manner and notify the First Table support team at support@firsttable.com.
- We accept cancellations in good faith, but simply cancelling reservations for no reason or because you have forgotten to block out a date is unfair to diners and is damaging to everyone's reputation. Acceptable reasons for cancellation could include, for example, unexpected events such as a closure due to no chef, or an emergency situation such as a kitchen fire.
- First Table reserves the right to cancel and refund any booking due to errors or incorrect information on the website. Additionally, for New Zealand venues, amendments to the number of diners on Four+More reservations can be made per agreed terms.
13. Review and Feedback
- Diners are encouraged to review their dining experience, and you agree to accept both public and private feedback, adhering to our Review Guidelines.
- Don’t forget about our ‘Rate your diner’ functionality which enables you to send immediate feedback on diners directly to the First Table team. We monitor and take action when necessary to ensure our diners are always treating the First Table offer and our restaurant partners with respect.
By participating in the First Table platform, you agree to these terms, aiming to offer diners a memorable dining experience while benefiting from increased exposure and patronage during off-peak times. Together, we can create a vibrant, mutually beneficial dining ecosystem.
